Fifty-Two Reservoir is a modern icon of form, space and light inspired by its industrial heritage. Set in the heart of vibrant Surry Hills with an eclectic mix of art design, fashion and food makes Surry Hills a mecca for working lifestyles.
SJB's strategy was to pull the building away from the western boundary to create a new pedestrian lane, while delivering natural light deep into the plan. This strategy also enabled the Reservoir Street edge to be liberated for retail activity. Most excitingly, the lane provides a public through-site-link open to pedestrians for the first time since the early 20th century.
This street level pedestrian permeability delivers significant public benefit. At ground level you're connected to the energy and culture of the Surry Hills village streets, with Fifty-Two Reservoir's own wine bar (Beau) adding to the constant day-night vibe.
In the skies above, the shared roof garden terrace with fabulous city skyline views creates an internal community within the building. With eight levels of column free boutique office space, high ceilings, an abundance of natural light and end of trip facilities in the basement, Fifty-Two Reservoir is designed with a focus on human needs.
As a next generation workplace, Fifty-Two Reservoir understands that when people get more from their work, they'll give more back. It embraces a wellness philosophy that promotes health, happiness and efficiency in every corner of the community as it creates space for engagement between people.
